Drew is an enterprise Agile consultant, a principal contributor to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and a Scaled Agile Academy instructor. He has over 20 years of experience using Agile, Lean, and traditional methodologies in companies ranging from lean startups to global corporations. He has worked in the US and Europe applying technical and leadership experience in Agile program and portfolio management, change management, organizational design, coaching, and training.
After starting his career at Anderson Consulting in the late 80s and early 90s, Drew moved to Van Kampen Funds, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, where he used early adaptive methods to define and build new software products and to migrate off their legacy systems. Following that, he joined a private startup consulting firm of 40 employees. As IT Director, he helped it grow to a global public company of 1,700.
Drew began an enterprise Agile consulting company in 2008. His work with the Scaled Agile Framework began in early 2009 when he met Dean Leffingwell while developing a scalable Agile framework for a management consulting company to bridge their strategic business framework with Agile. In 2011, he partnered with Dean to create Scaled Agile Partners, a global leader in scaling Lean-Agile practices. In 2012, he worked with Dean Leffingwell and Colin O'Neill to form the Scaled Agile Academy, a training and certification organization to help internal change agents and external consultants apply the Scaled Agile Framework to their business context.
