Course Overview

Through a fun mix of theoretical explanation, problem exploration and practical exercises, this 2–day course will equip attendees for their first Scrum project or enable them to reflect on their projects and become more agile.

Attendees will learn, through doing and questioning, about Scrum concepts and artefacts such as the Product Backlog, release planning, Sprint planning, the Daily Scrum and burndown charts. They will also learn that, despite being a simple framework, it is deceptively simple in that Scrum requires discipline and hard work to be effective.

Each aspect of the Scrum framework is explained in terms of its principles, its relation to the rest of the framework and is supplemented with stories of real–life examples while also giving the attendees the opportunity to explore the concepts in fun, practical case–studies.

Questions and conversations are encouraged throughout and there is also a dedicated Q&A session to explore the concerns and practical queries. As Certified Scrum Trainers we are approved by the Scrum Alliance and have had experience of Scrum implementations small, medium and large, coming up against and resolving many barriers to Scrum along the way.

Certification
The final step in becoming a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) is to take a multiple–choice assessment exam administered by the Scrum Alliance. Although you will be informed of the percentage of questions you answered properly, the exam is intended to serve solely as a tool for assessing your understanding of Scrum. You cannot "fail" the assessment as you could a university course. Instead, the assessment will help you determine how well you understand Scrum and help you identify any knowledge gaps you may have.

The exam includes 13 terminology questions, 15 practices questions, and 7 principles questions. A certain number of questions are chosen at random from each category to make approximately 25 total questions, so each student will see a slightly different set of questions.

You will have 90 days from the date of your Certified ScrumMaster course to complete this online assessment. The Scrum Alliance will email instructions after completion of the course.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any queries, we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
