Course Overview

Scrum is a simple but powerful framework to support team-based project delivery. One of the keys to a successful scrum project is an effective Product Owner. The Product Owner sets the product vision and is responsible for transforming it into a successful product. The Product Owner represents the voice of the team, and is singularly responsible for the trade-offs and decisions targeted at reaching the product goals. In this class, participants will learn the core skills to define and manage a prioritized product backlog, to make informed trade-off decisions as well as to create accurate and realistic product and release plans. This course will provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of the role of the Product Owner, as well its importance on the Scrum team. Participants will leave the class equipped with knowledge and tools to effectively support and lead their teams. You will learn how to create realistic release plans and then proactively steer the team in its successful delivery.

Upon successful completion of this course each participant will be enrolled as a Certified Scrum Product Owner, which includes a one-year Scrum Alliance membership which includes access to exclusive resource on the Scrum Alliance website. Furthermore, participants of the class will have access to the BigVisible Training Alumni site. This online community of graduates provides resources, discussion groups and access to BigVisible trainers and coaches. Members of the PMI also earn 14 PDUs after completion of the class.
