Brief

The ScrumMaster Certification Workshop is two days of intense interactive training designed to leverage your experiences so that you can learn the practice of Scrum in the context of what you know. Upon successful completion, attendees receive official designation as “Certified ScrumMasters” by the Scrum Alliance.

Expand beyond classic product/project paradigms and learn why agile/scrum works.
Understand Scrum • Use Agile Metrics and Reports • Apply Adaptive Planning

Why?

scrum is about adaption at a team level

Agile project management is as radically different from traditional project management as agile processes are different from traditional methodologies. Rather than plan, instruct and direct, the agile project manager facilitates, coaches and leads. In the agile framework known as Scrum, this person is called a ScrumMaster to denote the difference and remind the person filling this role of their new responsibilities. Accepted course participants learn how to be a ScrumMaster and how to make a development team, a project, or an organization agile. The ScrumMaster is responsible for the proper execution of the Scrum framework, and manages the resulting changes within the organization. Exercises, case studies, simulations and experiences are used throughout the course to bring home the realization of how Scrum can work. We will also show how the roles of ScrumMaster, Product Owner and Team form a critical tripod for effective agile development. All participants are expected to understand Scrum basics prior to attending this course.

Course Overview

This couse is suited for people who currently are on product development teams or managing product development efforts. This course is designed to teach an applied agile development practice using scrum. Applied practice is where the theory meets hands on experience.

Are you a ...?

Product Owner, Business Analyst, Software Analyst, QA, Testers, Refresher ScrumMaster, Process Advocate, Project Manager, Software Developers, business manager, CEO, other C level, or Architect involved in complex product development initiatives. Scrum coachs are also advised to attend this training. Sometimes these roles are categorized by responsibilities such as requirements capture, design, gathering, refining, business decomposition, requirements trace or development. In summary, those who require strong skills in systematizing complex logic, driving the right communication at the right time and building products are advised to attend.

The scrum domain orginated from software product development because of it's tight empirical feedback loops. The scrum framework is very applicable well outside of software development and should not be considered to be limited to that domain. Scrum applies whereever there is a complex human endeavor requiring a team.
