VP, Enterprise Architecture and Software Engineering
Market Force Information is an industry leader in Mystery Shopping research services providing store-level, customer experience information for retailers, restaurants, consumer packaged goods companies and the financial and hospitality communities.
Market Force Information is seeking an experienced VP of Enterprise Architecture/Software Development to work out of our Boulder headquarters. We are expanding and looking to hire a talented VP to lead our architecture and software engineering teams and to participate in planning the company's goals, objectives and direction. By demonstrating an understanding of business problems and brokering effectively for technical solutions, the Vice President will develop and maintain effective working relations with clients and IT senior management. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Some overnight travel will be required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and leadership for architecting new systems and creating enhancements to existing systems.
- Provides consultation to company teams and clients on critical business problems, defining business processes and researching/identifying software solutions based on customer requirements
- Formulates approaches that achieve desired business objectives, including defining system scope and objectives and assisting with business case justification
- Directs complex software projects and is responsible for the overall implementation and execution of project and performance criteria; maintains full knowledge of all phases of business-specific software implementations
- Provides senior management and IS management with an integrated individual business and company-wide business perspective, assessing and consulting on risks and the effects of specific requirements on other business processes and system priorities; ensure technologies are aligned with business strategies
- Creates and sustains business literacy in the software organization; maintains clarity about values, visions, meaning, and purpose in IS/business integration
- Creates a supportive team-oriented work climate that enables project team members to develop professionally and that values diversity, promotes teamwork and collaboration, and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity, and cost effectiveness
- Provide direct guidance to teams of software developers including implementing best practices and overseeing all engineering activities. Teams are local and in remote locations.
- Responsible for on time delivery of quality software based solutions to internal clients and large external clients.
- Oversee design, architecture, development and implementation.
- Must be able to review the software development's team work at a technical level and provide mentorship.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline with an IT focus required. Graduate degree in Business or Management preferred.
- 4+ years of managing a large team of developers including dealing with project objectives, budgets, timelines, and implementing new ideas etc.
- 4+ years of experience in software development preferably with C#, ASP.NET, VB6, HTML, SQL, Agile development and Service-Oriented Architecture
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management of major development projects required. Significant experience and knowledge in new software architectures and implementation of software solutions; experience with intranet development and implementation preferred. Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement involving broad-based software solutions, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change; business systems analysis experience.

- Experience with mergers and acquisitions or multiple company integration a big plus.
- Understanding of how technology affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes.
- Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in which one or more of the following occurred:
- Demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects
- Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management
- Gained experience in managing resources to meet goals across multiple projects
- Gained experience in leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups
- Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
