ScrumMaster (Project Manager I)
Position Summary
The ScrumMaster is responsible for leading multiple project teams through the Scrum process. The ScrumMaster facilitates all aspects of the Scrum process including sprint planning, demos, retrospectives and daily stand-ups. Additionally, the ScrumMaster will be responsible for typical Project Manager duties such as creating project plans, budgeting, tracking action items, managing risks, providing status reports and cross-functional team communication.
Responsibilities
- Trains and coaches the team on the Scrum process
- Conducts all Scrum meetings including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demos, sprint retrospectives and sprint pre-planning
- Facilitates issue resolution with the team
- Identifies and manages cross-team dependencies by working with other Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Product Managers or Functional Managers
- Maintains Scrum team status including burn-down charts, burn-up charts, and team status
- Participates in efforts to refine product development and project management processes and practices
- Helps instill Agile principles and practices into organizational culture
- Keeps team focused on project success by removing obstacles and protecting team from distractions
- Encourages and implements creative problem solving approaches and facilitates trade-off decisions with the cross-functional team
- Prepares project status reports and keeps the team, management and others informed of project status and critical issues
- Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications
- Assures all project information is centrally available and kept up to date
- Assists Project Manager in creation and update of detailed project plans
Position Qualifications
Education
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
Experience
- Certified ScrumMaster or experience leading teams in an Agile environment.
- 4 years experience working on SW development teams. Exposure to the complete product development lifecycle from product conception to design and development to product launch.
- 1-2 years experience leading or directing teams or team members in a role such as a project manager, release manager, or technical lead.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Software and Embedded Software (either developing or leading teams) is a plus.
- Experience performing project management activities such as estimating, creating schedules, tracking schedules, budgeting, general planning, or risk management.
