Agile Release Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA
Type: Contract-to-Permanent position

We're looking for a collaborative and proven Release Management or PMO leader to oversee successful delivery of monthly software releases as Director of Release Management for the fast growing, award winning, e-commerce division of a large retail company.

This is a fun and challenging key leadership role responsible for developing a team of professional release management resources and directing all aspects of a fast paced software release process, including release level planning, scheduling, coordination and communication in support of our four branded eCommerce sites.

This leader:

Acts as a role model to promote professionalism, and collaboration with Product Management and other IT partners (Development, QA, Infrastructure, Deployment, etc.).

Acts as a role model and mentor on Agile release management methodology, standards, business value metrics, strategy and risk management.

Oversees change control and reviews and communicates monthly metrics on releases (number of releases implemented, on-time statistics, number of "emergency" pushes, etc.) with IT Leadership.

Proactively maintains release management resource plans based on resource skills, capacity and demand, assigning appropriate resource to releases and proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving required changes to completion.

Develops, attracts and retains world class IT release management professionals.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and build strong working relationships, resolve issues, negotiate and gain the trust of others at all levels within the IT and business community.

Qualifications:

10 years of IT experience in a technology environment with experience managing Web based applications required. E-commerce experience highly preferred.
