Job Description
Must have exposure to the Agile/Scrum methodology and related products. The manager for this position utilizes this methodology and is seeking applicants with this experience. Come and show what you know!!
We are looking for a well-organized, detail oriented, proactive, and highly motivated Business Analyst to strengthen and expand the footprint of our Project Management Office.
Responsibilities
- Understand Hedge Fund operational processes, controls, deliverables, application functionality and the alternative marketplace to the extent that it can be represented internally and externally.
- Participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Create accurate and clear documentation of information obtained from meetings, interviews, and observations. Develop recommendations and customized solutions by synthesizing and prioritizing data.
- Prepare documentation (Process Maps, Operating Models, IT Diagrams, Migration Phasing, etc) and correspondence to support analysis and recommendations.
- Prepare presentation materials for internal discussions.
- Develop and deliver ideas both verbally and written.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize activities, and meet strict project deadlines. Work with business customers in the development of actionable requirements specifications and technology to insure that practical solutions are provided to business needs.
- Assist quality assurance in the verification of technology solutions. Provide documentation as necessary in the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
- At least 6-9 years related financial services experience with significant exposure to the Alternative Investment Industry.
- Knowledge of at least 2 of the following: fund/partnership accounting, administration, investment operations, OTC derivative valuations, treasury, custody, tax, compliance and transfer agency.
- Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal analytical and communication skills- able to grasp and communicate complex ideas easily.
- Strong problem solving skills coupled with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are essential for this role.
- Ability to build strong, credible relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project a must.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
- Demonstrated problem solving aptitude in a software development environment.
